DIY Rosé Bears

Ever since Christmas I have been obsessed with Sugarfina Champagne Bears. Buy one cube of them and you will be too. But at $8.50 per small cube they're definitely are a "Treat yo self" purchase. I had to find another way to get my fix. I decide this was a DIY opportunity. Like I always think if you can afford it, make it yourself.

1 cup of La Granja 360 Rosé (yes, the bottle did have a big influence on this choice)
6 packages of powdered gelatin
1/2 cup of sugar
Pink food coloring

This will yield about 150 gummy bears.

In a bowl mix the sugar and gelatin together. Then on the stove heat the one cup of Rosé in a sauce pan. After the Rosé starts to simmer mix in the sugar and gelatin mixture. You will want to keep stirring until the mixture become almost see through. If you want your bears to retain a little booziness do not let the mixture ever boil. After stirring for about 5 minutes the mixture will start to foam around the top. That's when you'll know it's time to get fillin'.

Take your gummy bear eye dropper directly to the sauce pan to get the mixture. You will want to keep it on the stove so it doesn't start to cool into a gummy blob. As you are filling your silicon mold keep it on something sturdy like a plate or a cookie tray. This will make it easier to transfer to the fridge after the mold is full. Keep your little bears in the fridge for about an hour to cool. The longer they are in there the easier it is to pop them out. (Do not place in the freeze, they will become very hard. Or in my case you'll forget about them)

After an hour they'll pop out from the mold pretty easily. But they'll pop into your mouth even easier.

There are so many other recipes to follow. I'm thinking something mango or passion fruit!

  1. Oh my God, this looks so easy and doable. I have been a crazy fan of these Sugarfina Champagne Bears but they are so expensive. I have to ask friends to treat me for this.

  2. Wow... what an idea! This means i can make with this syrop any pattern of my choice. Just like these teddy bears i can make other patterns too.
