Checking out Epcot International Festival of the Arts

If you know one thing about me it's that I live at Epcot. Especially when the Food and Wine Festival is going on. This year they decided to add in a brand new festival. Epcot International Festival of the Arts. This festival is all about the arts from food to singing, they've got you covered. I decided to check it out the first Sunday it was open. It was definitely a popular time to visit. If you've been to the Food and Wine Festival before you'll know there's booths everywhere scatted among the counties. They have those same booths out but they've been turned into fun themes like "The Painter's Palate" and "Decadent Delights."

There's a lot going on besides the food. There is Disney art everywhere with the artist there to speak with or see them at work. As well as in the evenings they have Disney Broadway performers doing some of the songs from shows like Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

But I was definitely there for the food.

A few of my samplings included

Pomegranate Mule featuring the Ginger People Ginger Beer and Van Gogh Vodka. This was probably my favorite drink. Very refreshing! Would have loved for the serving to be a smidge larger, but definitely gave me a whole new world of pomegranate drink ideas for at home. Something fun about this drink was that they actually put in fresh pomegranate seeds after topping it with ginger beer.

Neapolitan Beer Flight. This includes Breckenridge Nitro Vanilla Porter, Young's Double Chocolate Stout, and 3 Daughters Queens Court Strawberry Blonde Nitro (One of my favorite breweries). Now the only problem with these is that I went into them knowing that I didn't like nitro beer. So naturally this flight was not for me. But I'm always down to try new things, especially when it's beer. The Strawberry blonde was my favorite of the three! Side note, did you catch the name? Neapolitan? Like Neapolitan Ice Cream! Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry!

Gingerbread Funnel Cake. This was a winner. You can never really go wrong with a funnel cake in my opinion. In contrast to the usual powder sugar topping (which isn't my favorite, because I wear black often) there was an icing drizzle and colorful sprinkles.

Mandarin Ginger Margarita. Quite an enjoyable drink but won't be getting it again. Yes, it was delicious but there were a few flaws. First the price, $14.25. I usually try to keep my Epcot drinks under $10. Second the alcohol content. I know, normally I'm complaining that drinks don't have enough. This was NOT the case. This was loaded with tequila, it was almost hard to drink before it got slightly watered down. Third, no ginger. For ginger being in the title I was expecting that ginger kick, but it was missing. As a Moscow Mule, ginger-lovin' aficionado I really wish the flavor was there. The fresh rosemary was a nice touch though.

The two things I did miss that I came for was the Deconstructed Purple Sweet Potato Pie, Salted Caramel, Bourbon-soaked Cake and Marshmallow Whipped Cream and the Deconstructed Breakfast: Twinings® Spiced Apple Chai Tea Shake with Maple Bourbon Cream, a Waffle Crisp and Candied Bacon. The sweet potato pie was sold out (like I said, very popular day) and I was just too full for the second drink. I do have plans to return in a week to pick up these two!

Swing by and check out Epcot International Festival of the Arts, taking place in Epcot, Friday to Monday from January 13th through February 20th, 2017
